Joey Lovato
Joey Lovato is a multimedia journalist based in Reno, Nevada. He's been covering the region since 2017 and is passionate about community-centric stories.
Formerly, Lovato was the Multimedia Editor at The Nevada Independent, producing a weekly podcast covering everything from presidential candidates to crashed spy planes to the fentanyl crisis. He has also worked at KUNR Reno Public Radio, where he helped launch the station's first podcast, "Priced Out," an investigative podcast series on affordable housing in Northern Nevada. Outside of reporting, Lovato works at PBS on the TV show Wild Nevada.
Lovato is passionate about film photography and, in 2021, made a photo book about the effects of the pandemic on Reno, Nevada.
