David Singleton
David Singleton is a former reporter and editor for The Times-Tribune in Scranton. During his 33 years at the newspaper, he handled almost every major beat, including multiple stints covering Lackawanna County government, along with politics, courts and city government. He was the recipient of numerous state and national awards. He also spent five years as an assistant city editor.
Prior to joining The Times-Tribune, he worked 11 years for United Press International from bureaus in Scranton, Pittsburgh, Concord, N.H., and Charleston, W.Va. He started his career as a reporter for the Dominion-Post in Morgantown, W.Va. A West Virginia native, he is a graduate of West Virginia University. He is a devoted WVU football fan and an occasional Civil War reenactor, serving with the 19th Ohio Light Artillery.
